My job as a manager at a movie theatre is interesting to say the least. Every day is different when dealing with 3500 people a day. A normal day at the theatre is usually filled with a variety of complaints from customers, technical issues with projectors, and managing the staff. That is the easy part of my job. I am responsible for the inventory in the building. Normally a responsibility for a full manager because of the importance of inventory tracking for the profit and loss statements. Due to that responsibility I have a wide array of other tasks behind the scenes I have to attended to throughout the day as well including, physically counting all items in the building (which takes a few hours), making sure all unsaleable items are being properly logged in case of an audit, and sending in our weekly inventory numbers to our district manager and vice president. The theatre has taught me many useful skills that will help me later in my career including but not limited customer service recovery, how to operate under a corporate structure, and the importance of working hard. Working as a manager for a movie theatre showed me how much I hate having to work hard a little reward and it drives me to always been on the lookout for new opportunities for me to grow. The job does not come without some perks though, I have mot paid for movie since 2013 so that is definitely nice.
